Monday, April 28, 2014

There's not much to say on this.

Except, why would you want to ruin a perfectly good Bollywood flick with...John Travolta?

Sure he's had his moments but...

Wait...one song?

What the MF...

Oh yeah...he made this...

Jackie Chan, Waiting For Bollywood, and Mallika Sherawat

Monday, April 28, 2008

Next stop for Jakie Chan? Flicks in India - once he gets the right script of course:

Hollywood star Jackie Chan said here Friday that he yearned to do an Indian film and was "eagerly waiting" for a good project.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the audio release of "Dasavatharam", starring Kamal Hassan, Chan said: "India is the world's biggest market for movies. I want to do a film here. I am eagerly waiting for a good project."

Escorted by "Dasavatharam" director K.S. Ravi Kumar, Chan described Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat, who shares a brief screen space with him in "The Myth", as a "dear friend and a sister".
Who knew Sherawat and Jackie were so close?

Reports are out via AllHipHop that Snoop Dogg will be teaming up with the Indian Rap Trio RDB (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass) for their new single and video - which will be the lead track for the new movie featuring Akshay Kumar.

Snoop Dogg and Bollywood? What took so long?

Rhythm, Dhol, Bass

If you're not familiar with RDB, here's some info on them from their Wikipedia profile:

RDB are essentially a group of three Sikh brothers from Bradford although; Kuly, Manj and Surj who over the past four years have been performing, producing and djing for thousands of people in nightclubs, festivals and parties.

Originally club DJs, the RDB brothers play a blend of Bhangra, House, UK garage, Hindi, Bollywood, RnB, Hiphop, Ragga and Dance music. Even having firmly established a fan base worldwide, the RDB team still say they represent their own country, the UK, where they have performed in many well known clubs.

Mallika Sherawat, The Aquarian Gospel, Shilpa Shetty, and Quantum of Solace

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Bollywood's taboo-breaking blockbuster celibate yogni actress Mallika Sherawat (aka Bollywood's Bardot) will be starring in an upcoming Hollywood film about Jesus Christ called The Aquarian Gospel, where she'll play the character Saraswati, a loyal friend of Christ, when he travels through India - and like some of her other roles, this one's starting to make conversation too.

At the same time, after winning the UK Celebrity Big Brother and getting kissed by Richard Gere (that picture still makes me queasy) - it seems one of the next stops for Shilpa Shetty is in the next James Bond movie Quantum of Solace where it's rumored that her role will be more like Madonna's in Die Another Day.

Getting Bollywood for free

Interesting article on the copyrights of Bollywood films and the public domain - currently the time is set at 60 years, which means some of the classics belong to anyone that wants them:

Did you know that films like Mela, Anmol Ghadi, Neecha Nagar, Shaheed and many Hindi classics of 1940s and 1930s have already lost the copyright tenure and are in public domain. By 2010, evergreen film of the 1950s — CID to Babul — would also lose their copyright tag.
