I Put My Money On ONE CHAMPIONSHIP (Versus UFC)

Monday, October 22, 2018

Eddie Alvarez signed with ONE Championship last week. That deal came just months after ONE signed WBC Super Flyweight boxing champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Alvarez turned down offers to return to both the UFC and Bellator and instead chose to chase a title with ONE. It was a major win for the Singapore-based martial arts promotion that has grown immensely since its inception seven years ago. ONE is now the largest sports media property in Asia, but it's not settling.

Today, I am blessed with the precious opportunity to live my dreams. Through our real-life superheroes at ONE Championship, we have the awesome power to ignite hope, create dreams, inspire nations, and change the world. Angela Lee is a great example of one of our female superheroes who will help to inspire women to do more, achieve more, and be more in life. Another wonderful inspirational superhero is Bibiano Fernandes; he grew up on the Amazon river in extreme poverty in Brazil without daily food and today he is one of the greatest World Champions in history. Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke and his remarkable life story is also yet another a living testament that poverty is something that can be conquered through work ethic, sacrifice, dedication, and humility. Amir Khan is yet another example of greatness unleashed; he was born with Tourette's Syndrome, but still managed to rise against all odds to become one of Singapore's greatest fighters in history. I am truly inspired by the countless examples of real-life superheroes in ONE Championship. In many ways, my life has come full circle since that night I saw my mother crying alone helplessly.

ONE Championship is more than just a startup to me. It is my IKIGAI.

Chatri Sityodtong is a self-made entrepreneur and lifelong martial artist from Thailand. His rags-to-riches life story has inspired millions around the world on BBC News, CNN, Financial Times, Bloomberg TV, CNBC, Channel NewsAsia, Harvard Business School, Sports Illustrated, and many other major media. He is currently the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of ONE Championship, Asia's largest sports media property in history with a global broadcast to over 1 billion potential viewers across 118 countries around the world. Sityodtong was recently named "Asia's King of Martial Arts" by the Financial Times, and the “Most Powerful Person in Asian MMA” by Forbes, Yahoo! Sports, and International Business Times. Retro Old White People Clips (AKA When Jimmy Fallon Made Blake Shelton Try Sushi) AKA EXOTIC ORIENTAL FISH!! WTF!

Friday, October 19, 2018

I mean I just had to view it to see how bad it was going to be - I mean if you've never tried sushi before - at that age...

And no - not calling it racist - just - well - you know - well - actually - I might call it racist after all.

The exotic ORIENTAL SUSHI...

And while we all love us some Big Mac - c'mon...You've earned it?

Because you ate the EXOTIC ORIENTAL SUSHI?

I mean why not have some EXOTIC ORIENTAL "LADIES" there too while they were at it?

And then I wonder if after the EXOTIC ORIENTAL MASSAGE, Jimmy Fallon would have a Blond White Woman Come Out Of A Cake?

Because they earned it? And while getting an EXOTIC ORIENTAL MASSAGE is great - everyone would rather have a Big Ma...Blond White Woman?

Okay - Just sayin'.....

From The Harvard Crimson With Love On 5 Asian American Short Stories

Thursday, October 18, 2018

https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2018/10/16/asian-american-short-stories/

These two in particular caught my eye:

2. “A Flawless Silence” by Yiyun Li (The New Yorker, April 2018)

"Sandra said that she had called Chuck a bigot to his face, and he had called her an equally bad name. Min had not called Rich anything denigrating. He had married her because she was not the kind of woman who would use strong words."

“A Flawless Silence” is about a Chinese-American woman whose husband is a Republican and a jerk. Though set in California, the story has a strong New Jersey WeChat energy, which should be recognizable to anyone who has ever gone to a Harvard meetup in New Jersey or spent considerable time among the New Jersey-Harvard WeChat crowd; no other writer has so precisely captured the zeitgeist of this unique demographic. (If you know, you know, and vice versa.)

3. “Mothers, Lock Up Your Daughters Because They Are Terrifying” by Alice Sola Kim (Monstrous Affections: An Anthology of Beastly Tales)

"At midnight we parked by a Staples and tried some seriously dark fucking magic."

In “Mothers, Lock Up Your Daughters Because They Are Terrifying,” a group of Korean-American adoptees casts a spell to be reunited with their respective biological mothers. At once hilarious, disturbing, and tender, this story is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever missed or hated her mother. Fans of science fiction and fantasy writing in particular will be sure to enjoy Alice Sola Kim’s other stories, including “The Next World and the Next” (Lenny Letter, July 2016).

NOOOOO!!!!!!! DRAMAFEVER COME BACK!!!!!! WTH WARNER BROTHERS AT&T!!!! NO WARNINGS?????

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

All I know is this MF's. When I think of DramaFever I think of the goodness of AAPI as well as the things we love like Asian faces.

I think grassroots.

I think back to that email back in '09.

Back to the party I didn't get to go to.

As I've already stated...I know I can VIKKI, but DRAMAFEVER IS MY MF BAE AND NOW I'M HEARTBROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.

Let me just also add that I feel like from a business perspective everyone could have given us a little extra time - maybe a couple months - even 30 days at least. I'm sure they have systems to give all the account money back, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I'll have to think twice about using some of their services because who knows when they'll be shut down?

Oh wait.

I have AT&T for my cellphone....

Sorry KMOV Channel 4. But FUCK YOU. You Should Print The Name Of Hilary Brooke. Racist White Lady

Sunday, October 14, 2018

While the article here is good in the sense that KMOV went to actually talk with D'Arreion Toles - the fact that they wouldn't print the Racist White Lady's name who tried to block him and then got fired---that just doesn't sit well with me.

So everyone can target D'Arreion Toles--for whatever reason racist people may want to target him--but no one can target the racist white lady?

So she can just vanish into thin air?

FUCK YOU.

And I mean that nicely. In the sense that I just feel like that's hiding facts in the sense that if you didn't print D'Arreion Toles' name, maybe I'd be more fine with this--but his name is out there--so why can't hers?

To me, as a man of color--I feel like it's shady--like they're PROTECTING THE RACIST WHITE LADY.

No?

To each their own...

Anyway - check out http://thedailyhaze.com/tribeca-hilary-brooke/ who seems to be the first to identify her--Hilary Brooke.

Lazy Rich Asians...And Jessica Gao

Thursday, October 11, 2018

You may have heard about this already last month - but maybe you didn't. If you didn't - hear you go:

What happens when you mix the insanity of Rick & Morty's Pickle Rick episode with the box office success of Crazy Rich Asians? The answer is a new series, pitched as "Lazy Rich Asians," that's in the works for ABC in the US. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer and producer Jessica Gao is set to create the new series for ABC which follows the story of a young Chinese-American women struggling to balance the expectations of her overbearing family. THR reports the series will centre on Janet Zhao, a woman whose wealthy grandmother dies and names her as the sole inheritor of her will, making her the "unwilling new matriarch of the family."

Hmmm.

We will have to wait and see.

A Head Down For Indonesia...

Monday, October 01, 2018

I just wanted to pause for a moment to put my head down and give as much love and support as I can over to the motherlands in Indonesia as it looks like the outlook for those who've died in this catastrophe could reach into the thousands.

Indonesia air traffic controller hailed a hero for quake actions

An Indonesian air traffic controller has been hailed a hero after losing his own life while ensuring a passenger plane escaped a deadly earthquake. Anthonius Gunawan Agung, 21, was at the control tower of Palu airport in central Sulawesi when the 7.5 magnitude quake struck on Friday. He waited until the plane was airborne before jumping from the crumbling control tower. He died before he could be transferred to a specialist hospital. "Agung dedicated himself to his job until the end of his life and did not leave the control tower until the plane took off," Didiet KS Radityo, the corporate secretary for Air Navigation Indonesia, told the Jakarta Post.

Indonesia scrambles to help quake-hit island as death toll tops 800
Indonesian authorities scrambled to get food, aid and equipment into quake-hit Sulawesi island on Monday as the death toll from the disaster soared to 832 and looked certain to rise as rescuers struggled to reach devastated outlying communities. Dozens of people were reported to be trapped in the rubble of several hotels and a mall in the city of Palu, which was hit by waves as high as six metres (20 feet) following the 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Friday.

Aid Indonesia earthquake and tsunami victims
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake rocked the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Friday followed by a massive tsunami, which killed more than 830 people. Hundreds of others have been injured and tens of thousands have been displaced as water smashed into buildings and swept away homes. The quake and landslides severely damaged roadways, hindering aid workers' access to victims. However, a few organizations are on the ground providing relief.
