Can We Get Some Tests? Borrow Them From China? Well This Is A Cluster...

Sunday, March 15, 2020

Setting aside for the moment the racism and xenophobia against Asian Americans--this is just a gigantic, huge, over-sized clusterfuck.

South Korea has tested around 250,000 people. Their system at minimum can assess 10,000 people per day.

The "greatest" country in the world?

It's almost like we don't even know what the fuck is going on.

There's not a mandate to limit and ration store resources and it could easily be fixed with a directive, working with the top retailers to ensure supplies for everyone. Stores are starting to do this, but this is where you need government intervention and policy.

Instead of mobilizing the National Guard to build a wall because someone doesn't like brown people, shouldn't we be mobilizing them to create fast and efficient testing centers attached to hospitals? Isn't this EXACTLY what the National Guard is there for?

Shouldn't we be bypassing every hoop and collar that the US government has made for itself to streamline anything related to the testing, study, and vaccine of COVID-19?

I'm going with yes.

Instead we have to wonder if the policies in play during a time of crisis and uncertainty will help line a President's pockets.

I think Obama, when asked about taking responsibility, would have said something like "We all have to take responsibility and that includes myself". Something like that--poetic, noble, speaking to the crisis.

But we get the guy that just can't take it. We get the guy who puts his VP on it versus himself.

Because he can't handle it. He doesn't know how to handle it.

The President of the United States is supposed to lead in the most trying of times, to take the helm and hold the hand of the nation--but this President is scared. He's ill-equipped. His examples create confusion and chaos and this is the culmination of his leadership--

a train wreck.

An absolute train wreck.
