For Those Of You Who Are Saying Renee Good Didn't Get Out Of The Car...

Thursday, January 08, 2026

Well--as we tell our daughters if they were to ever face someone who wants to abduct them, they might as well just fight because who knows what happens to you if you ever get caught--I can only imagine what Renee Good was thinking as ICE agents are telling her to get out of the "fucking car" and what might happen to her if she was caught--because she was doing nothing wrong.

Ask yourself what happens to you in that situation?
Ask yourself why you should stop for masked men who can do basically whatever they want and could possibly put you in detention cut off from everyone, after they've beat you, because they don't believe you're legal regardless of what paperwork you have? Or because they just may not like you and one ICE agent is on a power trip.
Detained for months with no recourse.
I think I may run too, especially since no one was breaking any law and I really should be free to go.
They are saying this is Renee Good's fault, that she created this--but who created this environment where men in masks and plain clothes take anyone they think is illegal?
Renee Good didn't do that.
Renee Good didn't create an environment where we see ICE agents not de-escalating the situation but actually escalating it, even according to their own policies they should be de-escalating and using the minimum force needed:
Immigration agents are allowed by law to use force when they have "reasonable grounds to believe that such force is necessary," according to DHS policy.
However, the law states an immigration officer should "always use the minimum non-deadly force necessary to accomplish the officer's mission and shall escalate to a higher level of non-deadly force only when such higher level of force is warranted …"
And DHS policy encourages agents to use de-escalation techniques, less-lethal force and less-lethal devices, such as pepper spray and flashbang grenades, in achieving their goals. And they are to only use force that is "objectively reasonable."
Honestly--I'm probably trying to drive away too because I'd just want to get out of there.
But I would never think I would get shot point blank to the head trying to get away.
I mean why would I ever think that? Every law enforcement agency has said they are trained to NOT shoot into moving vehicles.
I guess that makes no difference now.
In my book Renee Good is a hero.
