Yul Kwon As Deputy Chief Of The Consumer And Governmental Affairs Bureau?

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Yup - you read that right:

Today, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski announced the appointment of Mindel De La Torre as Chief of the International Bureau and Yul Kwon as Deputy Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau.

“The FCC has an important role to play in empowering and protecting consumers and ensuring that they have access to world-leading communications networks and technologies,” said Chairman Genachowski. “These talented individuals have vast public and private sector experience in communications policy and I am delighted to have their expertise at the agency.” [...]

Deputy Chief, Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, Yul Kwon. Mr. Kwon’s diverse career spans across law, technology, business, and media. His government experience includes lecturing at the FBI Academy, drafting science and technology legislation as an aide to Senator Joseph Lieberman, and clerking for Judge Barrington D. Parker on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. In the business and technology sector, Mr. Kwon has held positions at McKinsey & Company, Google, and the Trium Group. He also practiced law as an attorney at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis and at Venture Law Group. In 2006, Mr. Kwon became the first Asian American to win the CBS reality show, Survivor. His subsequent media activities include working as a special correspondent for CNN and as a co-host for the Discovery Channel. Mr. Kwon obtained his B.S. degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served on the editorial board of the Yale Law Journal.
Does the madness never end?

Is there anything Yul Kwon can't do?

If I wasn't a better person and we didn't need people like Yul Kwon around I'd kick him in the shins (because I'm not that mean...and then I can outrun him).

Hot Yul for Xmas

Saturday, December 08, 2007

Speaking of Yul, in case you happened to miss it a few weeks ago, Yul Kwon was also named as one of the seven hottest Reality TV stars down at TV squad by blogger Kristin Sample who says of Yul:

We met Yul on Survivor: Cook Islands, where he led his tribe, dominated in competitions, and looked studly in his swimming trunks. Tall, nicely formed bod, great smile--what else could one ask for? Maybe a Law degree from Yale University? That's right, even his brain is hot.

An open letter to Yul Kwon

Thursday, August 30, 2007

Dear Yul,

I know that you are now one of the great Asian American faces of today - and please know that I having nothing but happiness for you in your newfound celebrity and what you’re doing with it.

But I do have a favor to ask.

Just a tiny one.

Could you maybe tone it down a bit?

I mean I think it’s great what you’ve done and how you’re trying to be this great symbol of an Asian American man - but have you really thought about the rest of us who don’t have chiseled faces and can’t pull off the “Look at me in my robe while I lay back on the couch” sexified look?

I mean I know some people like yourself have this innate quality of good looks, brains, and personality, but maybe you don’t have to smile so much and wear tank tops that show off your muscles that I know *sigh* you don’t work out to get.

I mean I get it - it’s not your fault -

you’re just built that way….

you were blessed….

….blah blah blah blah blah………

But could you at least try to keep your shirt on?

I mean do you have to set the bar so high for the rest of us?

Can’t you pack on a few extra beer and nacho pounds or something?

Please?

O.K.

I appreciate you listening.

Good luck and all the best.

I’ll see you in hell.

I mean around.

Well probably not.

Please cover your nipples.
