Telly Leung who's on Glee as Wes of The Dalton Warblers
Just because I really like that Glee version of Silly Love Songs I thought why not take the time (because I have nothing else better to do...) and post up some videos - and make a small note to Glee that Telly Leung + Naya Rivera/Santana = could be interesting.
On Glee, Thinking Asian People Took Over The Show, And Yes, It's Totally Busted
Tuesday, September 21, 2010Yeah - it's a long shot - but after berating the show last year (only when it was deemed necessary of course) and then tuning in for the premiere tonight - I just have to wonder if someone out there in FOX TV Land has actually been listening to me (and yes, we all know the truth, but at least let me have something on a day where people are using the word filibuster much to my chagrin).
I mean a romance between Tina and Mike (who actually kiss each other in that teen angsty Asian camp sort of way)?
Semi-funny jokes with Asian Americans?
Abs of steel via Harry Shum Jr.?
And Charice Pempengco upstaging - well - pretty much everyone?
Yeah...I'll just pretend it was all my idea...

Some Green Tea And A Quick Note To Office1@livinglifewiththelord.com
Wednesday, July 07, 2010I actually don't believe you're from the Gmail team and my account is ready for deletion...ummm...you know....'cause it's Gmail?
But thank you for giving me a catchy tune to hum.
Nice.
Fine Glee. You Win For Now (But Just By A Little)
Thursday, May 20, 2010I won't deny the goodness that is Iqbal Theba - and I've mentioned him before - but when you also have someone billed as one of the stars - who stops stuttering - but doesn't get any real lines - I can't help it - I just have to post up on it and I have to question the people of Glee.
But apparently they've made me eat some of my words.
But just by a little.
Tina did get some more lines in the last episode and was actually semi-featured in an actual episode where we actually got to see her for more than an actual split second where we could actually see a facial expression - or sometimes two.
And she got to do a little dancing with Mike (albeit in the dark and they really didn't focus on them all the time).
But it still felt a little empty.
The episode was still more about Artie than Tina. She's still kind of a backdrop even when she's semi-featured and I'm hoping we just get to see her as something - well - more than what she is now.
I'm not sure what that more is, but Glee surprises me in most every other aspect and I want to be surprised with the characters that are Asian American too and right now - I'm just not as surprised as I think I should be.

A Quick Note To The Gods Of Glee
Friday, April 30, 2010
Dear GOG:
I'm going to make this short (because I have to pee), but I just wanted to say that since you've opened the door for Tina who was apparently lying about her stuttering problem to have some substantial speaking parts - I'm hoping you actually allow her to step on through said door and well - you know - have some substantial speaking parts.
Maybe even a whole episode where she's actually a part of the storyline and not just relegated to being a backup singer.
P.S.
I really did like that last episode though because I'm a sucker for Kristin Chenowet and some Burt Bacharach which I know might run contrary to what I'm saying above - but good music is good music - and well - I'm kind of a sucker for show tunes - but could you imagine what that would have been like instead with Jenna Ushkowitz and Harry Shum Jr. doing some old school split screen Singing In The Rain shit?
Yeah. That would be my favorite episode.
Ever.
