World Pole Dancing Championships

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

The only reason I seem to be posting this was because I was catching up on some news, and who knew that just four days ago there was something called the World Pole Dancing Championships...which made me have the following thoughts:

One is that I was just amazed that such a contest was going on.

Two is that I'm kind of sad I wasn't able to attend (and no, that doesn't make me a pervert, in fact, I can think of many other things if I admitted to liking that would actually make me a pervert) - I'd just be curious to see what the arena looked like and if they had a special pole for the championship - was it gold plated and 100 ft tall that competitors had to scale?).

And three - who knew CBS would describe it like this:

The public's perception of pole dancing has recently changed to become a popular sport combining physical strength, technique and choreography.

Now I really don't feel like a pervert.

Random Words With Hmong

Hmongalicious.
Hmongadelic.
Hmongtastic.

Huhmongous.
Hmongopoly.

Hmongaholic.

I just can't do that with "Korean" - no flow.

Can I Just Say

Qwest Sucks Ass. And even though I'm only blogging half-time there's nothing worse than wanting to feed the need and then you can't...sure there are coffee shops and friends cable, but somehow...paying for something that doesn't always work kind of spoils the mood (and yes, somehow I think that will be telling down the line).

Yay For Monday's And Yay For DSL (Oh Wait)

I'm on someone else's cable...

Words I Never Want To Hear Coming From A Seven Year-Old's Mouth

Thursday, March 17, 2011

"Mommy. When I grow up I want a big fake pair of titties. Bigger than yours."

Thankfully, I didn't actually hear this - it was relayed to me via txt from a friend - who just in case you were wondering is all natural - and not that I have anything against augmented breasts - because I don't - I just wanted to let you know.

But on to my other thought I wanted to post:

Some things just don't need to be txted...

Yeah I Know...

Thursday, August 26, 2010

But I was on vacation - and I'm working on some other cool things - soon to be posted up here...but that's for later...and it's summer...

Yeah...I know.

Is It Wrong To Love Hannah Storm? I Say No, No It Is Not

Sunday, June 06, 2010

So while I'll be putting up a long post about my top 10/20 Asian/Asian American TV/Film crushes - as I was watching some NBA news - I just couldn't help but put up this post on the goodness of Hannah Storm.

Yeah - she's not Asian, mixed, or a person of color - but I don't really discriminate when it comes to perkiness balanced with NBA and general news knowledge - and I have to admit - I have this thing for newscasters.

I always have.

It's kind of a fetish.

Call me crazy, but there's something über hot about someone who shows just enough leg, is ultra perky, knows how to handle themselves on camera - and because the package wouldn't even be close to complete without it - knows their news.

Damn...I gotta go read some AP now.

Because Penises Are In The News

Monday, February 15, 2010

I was catching up on some articles and - well - penises are really in the news including the following snippets (sorry - couldn't help it):

  • Apparently Roger Ebert called out John Mayer on his Racist Dick, and I don't know about you, but when Roger Ebert starts tweeting on John Mayer's nether regions I have to think something's gone terribly wrong in our world.
  • Kate Gosslin in US Magazine is now referring to JG's penis as "stubby". Really? Isn't this over yet? Since - I say prove it with pictures - otherwise - it's just cocksay.
  • Booze + Chainsaws = 8 ft tree carved in the shape of a penis now being put on eBay.

I Have Pages?

Sunday, February 14, 2010

I know all you Wordpress bloggers have had static pages for a while - and honestly - I have no idea when this feature became available (and I'm too lazy to look at the actual date because that requires research and time) - but that's just a nice new feature I'll have to start utilizing - and yes I realize that this is probably of no real interest to you and that I should probably wrap up Best Of 2009 before I start playing with that - but at least I'm not posting up on how much I really love Lou Dobbs.

Random Movie I Ended Up Watching

Sunday, November 22, 2009

Over the past week or so one of the films I ended up watching was Seven Pounds, and while I only planned to watch a little of it on Netflix, it kinda sucked me in - what I really liked about it was that it brought me back to the days of Six Degrees of Separation which if memory serves me correctly was the first film I actually saw him in. I like his blockbusters (at least some of them), but you also kind of like what you know - what first drew you in - although I think they should have cut out some of the ending...

That's it.

Random Post On My Cat

Monday, July 27, 2009

Seriously - I'm searching for answers - my cat has gotten HUGE - and yes - it's partly my fault since I pretty much feed him anything he wants - pizza, chicken, gyros, Doritos, Twinkies, cookies, steak, ham, regular cat food, cat treats, egg rolls, donuts, fried fish, breadsticks, bulgogi - I actually think my cat's a dog - but now he's gotten to a point where when I pick him up he's really heavy - like ubber heavy.

I even tried taking him for a walk (and yes - it's as absurd as it sounds) - but I figured hell with it - I'll try anything - and just for the record - I had to get the small dog size harness because he couldn't fit his fat ass inside a regular cat sized harness - and just for the record again - he didn't do shit - he just laid there like the fat ass he is.

And he really doesn't play with toys anymore unless they get him high - and then he looks like he wants to eat me - so I don't really get him high that much anymore.

Again, I realize the eating machine is my own creation, but I'm just throwing it out there that if anyone has gotten their cat on some sort of fitness regiment, I'm all ears (you have my e-mail).

I know....just stop feeding him jelly filled donuts....

Bad habits are hard to break?

Thing That Irks Me - About Me

Sunday, July 19, 2009

I don't know when I'll learn, but sometimes when I'm at the store, I accidentally pick up Gatorade Tropical-Mango instead of my favorite which is plain Orange and while I realize this is completely my fault, I can't help but think I need to write a letter to Gatorade asking them to better identify their bottles, so when I'm racing through the store, Orange is easier to pick out so I don't accidentally get Tropical-Mango.

I don't mind Tropical-Mango, but there's nothing really worse than coming home, opening up a bottle of thirst quenching Gatorade and then taking that first swig and going "Awww man...I got Tropical-Mango by mistake? Again?"

But if that's the worst thing going on in my day - not too bad really.

A Quick Note To Drivers With Obama Stickers

Friday, June 26, 2009

You know I love you all, and maybe we're all still giddy over the fact that he won and that he seems to be granting more interviews then J & K where it seems like we're getting unprecedented access, but seriously - can you all learn to fucking drive a little better these days because the majority of people I'm throwing the finger at lately have an Obama sticker. And sure, it's still the people rocking the GOP that I actually have to get out of my car for to chastise, but some of you - you're making us all look bad.

Use a blinker. Get over to the left lane if you think the right lane is for people that drive 10 miles over the speed limit. Look behind you when you back up in a parking lot, don't just gun that MF and hope you won't hit anyone. And please people - if you're ugly - don't masturbate when we're all stuck in gridlock if you don't have tinted windows because nobody wants an eyeful of that and it just begs the question of how you were brought up because most people who can't wait until they get home to masturbate at least have the decency to pull on over and use a restroom at a McDonalds.

It's called public transportation and some of you - you should really think about using it.

Some Of The Random Things Sucking Up My Time For No Good Reason

Tuesday, June 09, 2009

Hotel Babylon

I've been completely sucked into this BBC show about a five star hotel and the people that work in it because it really does have everything. It mixes different cultures, has that narrative intro to each episode I like, a great cast of characters, interesting storylines, and there's even Asian representation in it with Natalie Jackson Mendoza (who was also in the kick ass flick The Descent).

Season 3 can't get to my mailbox soon enough.

Kanto Wanderer

After stopping two movies that I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes of, this Seijun Suzuki film got my attention right away because it was just that damn cool. Slick visuals, great story, it was old school meets people-just-don't-make-movies like-this-anymore.

The Great Happiness Space

While it did take me two sits to get through this I just had to finish it up because how can you not want to watch about "the secret life of Japanese host boys"? And yes, I did have to wonder how much was for the camera and how much was real, but even if it was 50/50 - it was still interesting.

Densha Otoko (Train Man)

I really had high hopes for this '05 flick and maybe if the ending (spoiler) didn't have him crying all the way through it I might have actually liked it, but c'mon - there's only so much blubbering I can take - couldn't they have had him man up just a little more? Some geeky crying is okay, but full blown out blubbering to the point where you're saying to yourself "No way she still falls for him" is where I draw the line.

Maybe I'll check out the tv drama to see if that's any better.

If You Think I'm A Bad Blogger...Check Out My Photos

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Sure. I've been consumed by bad t.v. over the last couple of days. Yes. I haven't really posted much. No - I won't disagree with that either.

Well sure, but...I mean...at least I'm not posting photos like this all the time.

Pirates Have Wicked Dogs: Thailand Edition

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Random stories that have caught my eye:

1. The Presidential White House poochie Bo.

Seriously. Who knew a dog could get this much attention. Shelter, no shelter, purebred, broken promises - when's the last time a dog stirred up this much controversy? Bo's got a UK blog (and apparently writes as a Republican and actually doesn't like the Obamas, or his name) - and yes - he's also got his own book coming out (that's legit) - it's going to be called "Bo, America's Commander in Leash".

2. You can play it like this wasn't a surprise all you want, but I don't think anyone at the beginning of the year said to themselves "I think this year we're going to be reading about more news about pirates".

3. Honestly, I've kind of lost track of who I should be rooting for in Thailand. Red shirts, Yellow shirts - maybe they'll throw in a little burnt orange? While it seems to be calming down a little - at least for now - I just hope they get this sorted out soon because there're some elephants that are dying to get me in a 21 rematch (because I schooled 'em last time).

And that concludes this random post.

You're A Girl At A Startup

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I happened to stumble onto this blog called "Girl At A Startup" where the latest post is about being a non-dude screenwriter (see post Being a Non-Dude Screenwriter) and somehow I just kind of got caught up into the blog and especially liked this video of Kathrien Ahn (who's a techie, actor/writer/blogger and a hip hop karaoke performer) following around her dad in a grocery store in K-Town.

Korean Food Shopping with My Dad from girlatastartup on Vimeo.

And really - who doesn't like Wasabi Green Peas?

Apparently I'm More Like Gandhi Than Hitler Which I Think Is A Good Thing

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

So I was hitting up down at TMM and while reading a good post on the death sentence, I hopped on over to the Political Compass and who knew I'd be in the same square as Gandhi.

Versus Hitler - because I am kind of a dictator.

It's the sweet sweet I'm not Hitler post!

Because you know you want to take it too, check out more down at the Political Compass.

The Great Slanty Read-A-Thon Update AKA Random Stuff

Monday, March 09, 2009

About one month ago as some of you know I started The Great Slanty Read-A-Thon (I almost typed "Read-A-Thong" for moment btw) and I'm here to update you on my status.

Here's a few of the things I've done so far:

  • Read about The Evolution of Asian Male Porn in America and pondered the thought of the AM/WF on camera versus the AM/AF/BF/WF on camera.
  • Took in a little news on Patsy Mink via Sylvie K as well as caught her dressed up for SF's WonderCon alongside a Yip Yip from a little bit ago.
  • I watched the really bad film My Girlfriend is a Cyborg after I saw the ass kicking film Taken. My Girlfriend is a Cyborg was so bad I almost dedicated a whole post to it, but then I came to my senses and decided it didn't deserve it. I'm not going to say it didn't have its moments - but that was part of it - it was so frustrating because it could have been a decent movie if she wasn't really a cyborg and it was a completely different film altogether.
  • Caught down at allkpop.com the recap of the NY JYP Tour where I read the Wonder Girls put on a great show, although I didn't actually go through all 100+ pictures.
  • Wondered to myself if I should really eat a whole jar of pickles.
  • Ate the whole jar of pickles.
While there's more I could probably add here - as you might have already figured out, I haven't actually opened the book up yet.

It's just there.

Starring at me.
