This is pretty cool. Apparently thirty artists have signed a letter which has condemned the violence in the Burma/Myanmar region and supports the release of the National League for Democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Among those who have signed the letter: novelists Michael Ondaatje - The English Patient, Maxine Hong Kingston - The Woman Warrior, Amitav Ghosh - The Glass Palace, Le Ly Hayslip - When Heaven and Earth Changed Places, as well as poet Bamaw Nyo New.
