The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis will be presenting their annual Women with Vision series during the month of March celebrating the work of women directors in cinema, this year spotlighting director Naomi Kawase:
Naomi Kawase was only 27 when she won the Camera d’Or at Cannes for her independently produced debut Suzaku in 1997. Reaffirming her reputation with Shara in 2003, she is now recognized as one of Japan’s leading directors.
