Zee Avi's Bitter Heart

From Spinner.com:

Malaysian artist Zee Avi is a long way from being a lawyer, which she, admittedly, was bred to be. Discovered by White Stripes and Shins manager Ian Malone, Avi -- who grew up listening to the Beatles, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and Simon and Garfunkel, among others -- was signed to Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records, and will release her self-titled debut May 19. The effort is preceded by the first single, 'Bitter Heart,' which just received the video treatment. "It's a simple video shot entirely on film," Avi tells Spinner. "I think the idea of the video is to put the song across with it's simplicity, since the song is an ironic number all on it's own."

Zee will be supporting the release of her debut album on May 19th with a tour across the US. We hope to see you out on the road. The album features the instrumental genius of Zach Gill, Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski, and members of Ozomatli, and Matt Costa’s band. A new song from the album, “Monte” was featured in last night’s season Finale of “Private Practice” and is now up on the player.
