Inouye Takes Over As Appropriations Chair

Saturday, November 08, 2008

Cool news coming out of the Charleston Daily Mail via the Honolulu AP that Senataor Daniel Inouye is taking over the Senate Appropriations Committee chair:

Inouye, the third-most senior member of the Senate, said he was humbled by the recommendation by the 90-year-old Byrd, who will step down voluntarily as head of the powerful panel.

"I hope that I am sufficiently prepared to succeed my mentor who has assisted and guided me over the past 30 years, and in particular, during the years that he has led this important panel with distinction,'' Inouye said in a statement Friday.
I guess Inouye isn't a traitor after all?
