Rock, Paper, Scissors: Asian American Student Forced To Say "I Love America" At Knifepoint

Caught this via dailycamera.com and let's just say it together - this is fucked up:

An Asian-American University of Colorado graduate reported being assaulted and forced at knifepoint to say “I love America” early Friday.

The 22-year-old victim, whose name hasn’t been released by police because the case remains under investigation, told officers he was walking with three friends about 1 a.m. near 10th and Marine streets on University Hill when a group of four men confronted them.

Before the victim and his friends were approached, they were singing a song from the movie “Team America” called “America, (expletive) yeah,” said Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects used ethnic slurs toward the victim and said “something to the effect of, ‘Do you think you are an American?’” Huntley said. The suspect also called him a “Chinaman,” according to victim and witness accounts.

He then punched the victim in the face, held a knife to his throat and hit him again, forcing him to say “I love America,” police reported.

The other people with the suspect were “verbally attempting to get him (the suspect) to stop,” Huntley said.
We all know the mindset of people like this - insecure, uninformed, uncomfortable outside of what they've been brought up with, stronger in a group versus when they're alone - but when you throw in the aspect of violent tendencies - this is why I support gun carrying laws - and say what you will about - well - whatever you will - but gun usually beats knife in every single street game of rock, paper, scissors.

I don't support violence.

I just support self defense.
