Miss It If You Dare: Beatrock Music, Power Struggle's "Remittances", The Release Party, Nomi, Kiwi, Denizen Kane, And A Whole Lot More

Again - I don't think you want to miss this:

Power Struggle--led by Bay Area-based, Midwest-bred emcee Nomi and his latest cast of beat technicians (LA's Fatgums and SF's Mister Rey)--dropped their latest LP, Remittances, earlier this month on Beatrock Music. It's a powerful record that takes listeners on a journey, told from the perspective of a working-class immigrant disillusioned by the American dream. A nomad himself, Nomi's roots stretch to Minneapolis and Brooklyn, where he set up shop with former crews Oddjobs and Kill the Vultures. He toured the world and had a fleeting affair with the rap life before hanging it all up to serve a greater purpose. Now a moving force in San Francisco's Filipino American community, Nomi works as a community organizer and teacher at the Filipino Community Center.

It's truly an honor for us to celebrate the release of such an important, poignant record. Join us on Friday, June 4 at Pier 23 Cafe in SF. Featuring performances by Power Struggle (Nomi with Kiwi, Bwan, Pele, Mister Rey, and Saico), Denizen Kane, Dirty Boots, Otayo Dubb and the Counterparts with DJ Wonway on the tables.

Oh Dang! and Beatrock Music present...
