Laura Ling And Euna Lee Are Sentenced To 12 Years In NK Labor Camp

Monday, June 08, 2009

Well, I'm not sure quite what to say, except that I'm hoping that someone is able to do something - anything - so that these two don't have to actually serve any time:

U.S. officials on Monday grappled with how to win the release of two American journalists sentenced to 12 years of hard labor by North Korea. Correspondents Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who work for ex-Vice President Al Gore's San Francisco-based Current TV channel, were arrested by North Korean troops March 17.
Hopefully Richardson, Al Gore (who's been quite up to this point), and the calls from other political figures like Gov. Schwarzenegger can help barter for some type of trade to get these two back.
