Get Into The Studio With Mike Shinoda And Your Song

Saturday, August 09, 2008

So this is a few days late, but there's still time to get your groove on, and maybe, just maybe, you can get into the studio with Mike Shinoda where he'll help you record your original song. All you you have to do is check out wemix.com and submit an original song inspired by artwork from Mike Shinoda's Glorious Excess exhibit:

WeMix.com, the fastest growing artist-centered, user-generated music creation and record label community for independent artists has partnered with Grammy award winning musician/producer/artist Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Fort Minor to launch the "Mike Shinoda: The Glorious (WeMix)" songwriting contest. The contest will give one winning artist the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have Mike Shinoda go into the studio with him/her to help professionally record their song.

Wemix.com's "Mike Shinoda: The Glorious (WeMix)" contest coincides with the premiere of Shinoda's Glorious Excess (Born) and Glorious Excess (Dies) exhibit, a brand-new series of paintings and digital work at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, CA. The exhibition, which is presented in two parts, features large-scale pieces that blend his experiences in the superstar spotlight with pop commentary and classical vanitas influences.
The deadline for song entry is August 18th.

And you're waiting for?
