SDSU creative writing professor Marilyn Chin has been named one of four finalists for Poet Laureate of California.Read more here.
"As an Asian-American woman poet, I feel honored to have been selected," Chin said. "There’s so much going on in California and the Poet Laureate has an opportunity to represent the diverse and vibrant community of poets in California."
The poetry written by Chin, who immigrated to the United States in the 1960s, often deals with East-to-West assimilation and its inherent challenges.
